Job Summary
As a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Inspector, you perform dimensional inspections using CMM and other precision tools to verify engine components meet engineering specs, customer requirements, and industry standards.
Work ScheduleWeekend position:
Friday – Sunday 6:30am – 7:00pm.
- Set up, program, and operate CMM equipment for first-article, in-process, and final inspections.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, models, and GD&T.
- Create, modify, and troubleshoot CMM programs (e.g., Calypso).
- Perform dimensional analysis with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, and other precision instruments.
- Document inspection results and generate reports for quality records, FAIRs, and customer submissions.
- Identify nonconformances and communicate findings to engineering, production, and quality teams.
- Support root‑cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain calibration of inspection tools and follow safety procedures and quality system requirements.
- Assist with training operators and inspectors on print reading and measurement techniques.
- HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1+ year of CMM programming experience.
- ASME certification.
- Background in aerospace, defense, automotive, or precision machining.
- Experience with FAIRs, PPAPs, and AS9100/ISO 9001 standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.
