A CAM Programmer is a highly skilled individual who programs, sets up, and operates computer numerically controlled machines to produce precision parts and components, often with a focus on managing, operating, and maintaining robots and automated systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining, an eye for quality, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
Experience- High school diploma or GED required or Technical Certification or Associate Degree in machining or a related field (Preferred)
- Minimum 4 years of experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and using measuring tools.
- Forklift experience is a must.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Review and execute the daily manufacturing schedule.
- Set up and adjust the profile line and associated machinery based on production specifications (e.g., shelves, trays, reinforcements).
- Call up and run programs according to work orders; create new programs when necessary.
- Monitor production processes and make real-time adjustments to optimize quality and efficiency.
- Enter production and stock movement data into the management system.
- Inspect parts for quality, appearance, and mechanical strength; make necessary adjustments.
- Perform routine lubrication, cleaning, and minor maintenance (e.g., replacing electrodes, resetting machine axes).
- Conduct self-maintenance tasks and uphold a clean, organized work environment.
- Operate forklifts to supply raw materials (blanks, coils) and remove finished goods.
- Manage inventory movement and storage according to warehouse standards.
- Track material usage and support proper waste sorting and recycling practices.
- Diagnose and resolve machine malfunctions and breakdowns.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams for repairs and planned interventions.
- Replace defective parts and ensure availability of critical spare components.
- Record equipment stoppages and technical issues in maintenance software.
