What You Will DoAn aircraft mechanic maintains the engines of aircraft to meet FAA standards. This job involves tasks such as performing routine checks and repairs, keeping records of inventory, and identifying faults with components of the plane.
What You Will Learn- Engine disassembly/assembly
- Perform mechanic duties to disassemble and assemble engines, engine modules and accessories. - Clean
- Perform cleaning of engine parts and components. - Perform visual checks to assess minimal part condition for continued use where applicable. Understand the basic inspection techniques as part of a career development path.
- Demonstrate commitment to the EHS and continuous improvement programs by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities.
- Ability to manage tools and tooling to ensure serviceability before and after use and process appropriately when issues arise.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must be willing to train on first shift (5 AM to 3:30 PM M-TH) for up to 5 months
- A&P License or two years aviation, aerospace and/or previous mechanical experience.
- Turbine engine overhaul and repair experience preferred in one or more of the following disciplines:
Disassembly, Assembly. - Ability to identify and resolve configuration and compatibility issues.
- Must have completed CORE Basics and have created a CORE profile (internal candidates).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- FAA Safety Sensitive Position
- Must be willing to work all shifts
- SAP familiarity (Preferred)
