Job Summary:Join Pratt & Whitney at our Columbus Engine Center, where precision meets purpose. As a Mechanic, you’ll play a critical role in the overhaul, repair, and assembly of advanced jet engines that power commercial and military aircraft around the world. Working in a hands‑on, team‑driven environment, you’ll apply your mechanical expertise to ensure engines are restored to peak performance, safety, and reliability.
Thisis a 1st Shift position:
Monday – Thursday 5:00 am – 3:30 pm
What You Will Do:
- Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance in accordance with
- published work instructions and approved technical data.
- Utilize common hand tools as well as a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to assemble/disassembly and test a jet engine.
- Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly as specified by work instructions, comply with required self-inspection or peer inspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives.
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Aviation engine overhaul and repair experience
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License or Powerplant (P) Certificate
- Hands‑on experience in one or more of the following disciplines:
Disassembly, Inspection, Assembly, or Turbine Engine Test Operations. - Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications and SAP

Onsite:
Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
