Job SummaryJoin Pratt & Whitney's Columbus Forge team as a Finishing Working Lead and play a key role in leading daily operations that support some of the world's most advanced aerospace products. In this hands-on leadership role, you will provide technical expertise, support daily production activities, troubleshoot process challenges, and help develop team members while ensuring safety, quality, and delivery requirements are met.
This is a 1st Shift position:
Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm
- Lead daily Finishing operations by coordinating workflow, supporting production priorities, and ensuring safety, quality, and delivery goals are met.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members while partnering with supervisors on scheduling, training, and career development.
- Perform hands-on manufacturing work as needed, including reading blueprints, following work instructions, and using precision measuring tools.
- Track work in process, lead tier meetings, order tools and supplies, and support other daily administrative activities.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance needs through ANDON Systems or MTS and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with all environmental, health, and safety policies while performing other duties to support business needs.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 6+ years of manufacturing experience, technical or military training, or military training experience
- Previous leadership, coaching, or mentoring experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical or vocational training in a manufacturing-related field.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, perform shop math, and use precision measuring tools.
- Basic computer skills and experience with manufacturing systems.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and continuous improvement mindset.

Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
