Hemophilia of Georgia (HoG) is a nationally and internationally recognized nonprofit organization that provides programs and support services for people with hemophilia, von Willebrand Disease, and other bleeding disorders. HoG is the only agency of its kind in the state and is dedicated to enhancing the health and wellness of the bleeding disorder community by providing excellence in comprehensive healthcare, education, advocacy, and the support of research to transform lives.

The Director of Development position will be remote and ideally based in the Savannah or Augusta. Candidate must reside in Savannah or Augusta.

The Director of Development will spend 70% of their time overseeing all fundraising events, campaigns, and activities in the market area. The Director of Development’s priority will focus on new business development/stakeholder engagement and increasing the corporate donor portfolio and associated fundraising revenue. The Director of Development is responsible for supporting the planning, implementing, managing, and evaluating the community development fundraising activities in this assigned market for Hemophilia of Georgia.
Additionally, this role will spend 30% of their time supporting Client Engagement Programs/Activities with the goal to expand patient programs, outreach, and services to patients in the market area.
Hemophilia of Georgia operates an annual summer camp program for children and teens with hemophilia and other inherited bleeding disorders. Camp is typically held in the summer (which may include the Fourth of July) and runs Saturday‑Friday, and the date changes each year. Camp is an agency‑wide, strategic priority; therefore, all exempt employees must participate. Assignments may include duties at camp, helping campers get to and from camp, and may involve overnight travel.
The Director of Camp & Client Events will provide advance notice to exempt employees of where support is needed. PTO requests during the week of camp are not approved; however, PTO requests for extenuating circumstances will be reviewed on a case‑by‑case basis by the Chief Community Engagement Officer.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with the Director of Community Engagement and Chief Community Engagement Officer (CCEO) to develop annual fundraising goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with the Community Engagement Team to design and implement a comprehensive development program and appropriate marketing strategies.
- Support the expansion and increase in patient programs/events in the identified market area.
- Coordinate patient programs/activities for patients and family members in identified market area.
- Identify, define, and acquire funding resources available to the agency.
- Seek new corporate/foundation funding sources and maintain relationship with current/past donors.
- Represent HoG in meetings with potential funding sources.
- Cultivate corporate support for special events, fundraising initiatives, and patient programs.
- Cultivate corporations and community organizations and educate them about bleeding disorders.
- Actively support in annual fundraising events including but not limited to:
The Tee Off for Bleeding Disorders (Golf Tournament), Score for a Cure (Top Golf event(s)), Hops for Hemophilia event(s), and the Trot to Clot 5K event. - Successfully manage all relevant event logistics for assigned events, campaigns, patient programs and provide routine updates to progress/goals.
- Collaborate closely with volunteer committees.
- Work closely with the Communications Team to develop and implement materials to promote and publicize patient programs and fundraising events, along with developing content for the Development section of website.
