Position: Part-Time Clinical Faculty, Nursing (Graduate Program)

Part-Time Clinical Instructor

The position of the part-time clinical instructor is a non-tenure track faculty position in the FNP program in the School of Nursing within the College of Education and Health Professions. Part-time Clinical Instructors are hired for Fall, Spring and/or Summer semesters as dictated by demand. The clinical instructor will be assigned clinical sections of FNP students to work with in the Learning Management System (LMS) with coursework and to monitor in the clinical setting with documentation of clinical hours and patient populations.

Supervise Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) students in clinical placements to ensure safe, competent patient care. Serve as a resource for students regarding clinical expectations, professionalism, and advanced practice standards. Facilitate assigned clinical courses through the Learning Management System (LMS). Review and evaluate student assignments (e.g., clinical logs, case studies, SOAP notes, reflective journals). Provide timely, constructive feedback on coursework and clinical documentation.

Maintain accurate grading and communication within the LMS. Monitor and verify student clinical logs, patient encounter data, and hours tracking. Knowledge of the role of the FNP and expected performance of a student, based upon the student’s placement in the curriculum. Use of technology with online courses and the learning management system, and software such as a clinical tracking system.

Ability to provide constructive, timely, and actionable feedback.

A Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university, an active, unencumbered RN license in Georgia or eligibility for licensure in Georgia are required. At least two years of quality clinical nursing experience in a medical-surgical or specialty environment and previous college level teaching in nursing, and an understanding of technology as a tool for effective teaching are preferred.

Preference will be given to candidates who have evidence of successful teaching at the college level in both traditional and online environments.

Salary is commensurate with experience and education.
