Shift Lead

Pet Supermarket is one of the largest retail operations dedicated to providing Pet Parents with the best selection of pet care items and passionate customer service.

Shift Leads are front‑line leaders who provide friendly customer service, drive sales, and act as Manager on Duty when necessary. They work closely with the Sales Associate team and the Store Manager to meet sales, KPIs, and store performance goals.

• Assist customers and lead the team in driving sales, service, and customer experience initiatives.
• Prioritize, assign, and delegate daily goals, tasks, and assignments to associates and ensure completion when Manager on Duty.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and positive attitude in the workplace, including verbal, written, and email communication.
• Partner with the Store Manager to plan and execute community events and build relationships with rescue agencies.
• Protect employees and customers by maintaining a safe and clean store environment.
• Ensure cleanliness and well‑being of all livestock, including animal care, feeding, and fish system maintenance.
• Assist with restocking merchandise, moving products from the stockroom to the sales floor, and heavy lifting up to 55lbs.
• Support accurate physical inventories, count taking, and shrink goal achievement.
• Perform store opening and closing procedures and communicate concerns regarding performance gaps.
• Support new‑hire training, merchandising guidelines, and execution of community events.
• Complete tasks and other duties as assigned by store management.

• Minimum 1year of retail or customer service experience.
• Experience working with and around animals.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Valid driver’s license and preferred access to a motor vehicle.
• Physical capability to lift up to 55lbs several times during a shift.
