Job Summary

The Jekyll Island Authority is hiring a Guest Services Team Lead to assist the District Shops Manager with all daily operations of the Pier Road Outfitters Store. Responsibilities include providing exceptional customer service, shop supervision, inventory control, training and motivating staff, and maintaining accurate accounting records. This is a part-time position working up to 30 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Description
  • Assists District Shops Manager supervise employees, including encouraging and motivating staff in sales and customer service.
  • Demonstrates proficiency and accuracy in operating point-of-sale.
  • Assigns employee lunch & breaks to effectively manage day-to-day activities.
  • Identifies current and future customer needs by establishing a rapport with customers.
  • Ensures availability of supplies by replenishing store stock levels daily.
  • Resolves customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Assists in inventory counts, identifies shortages or surpluses and reports all discrepancies to the Manager.
  • Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean studio environment.
  • Maintains the stability and reputation of the studio by complying with legal requirements.
  • Assists with briefing all guest services staff is aware of changes at the beginning of each shift.
  • Enforces program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Prepares daily store deposit and daily revenue reports. Ensures that all studio accounting reports are accurate and submitted promptly.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper PCI compliance as required by credit card regulations.
  • Responsible for maintaining proper cash controls in the studio and ensures all staff follow proper cash and credit card handling policies and procedures.
  • Contributes to the team effort by striving for increased sales.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Completion of a high school degree or a recognized equivalent. Associate’s Degree or higher is preferred.
  • 2 – 4 years retail store experience required, supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must be outgoing, personable, and friendly.
  • Must love working with people with the ability to provide positive customer service.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate and present information to customers, peers, and all levels of management.
  • Computer skills required;
    Excel is essential.
  • Flexible schedule required including weekends, holidays, and early evenings.
  • Must be able to stand for long period of times
Physical Requirements /Working Conditions
  • Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
  • 90% of the typical work day will be spent standing.
  • Between 25 and 50% of the day will be spent walking, lifting, grasping, feeling and climbing, pushing, and pulling.
  • Less than 25% of the day will be spent climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  • Less than 10% of the day may be spent sitting.
  • Sensory abilities required include vision, hearing and touching with more than 50% of the day spent communicating; talking and hearing.
  • Must have visual clarity to determine accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of work assigned as well as close visual clarity to prepare, analyze data and figures and operate and view a computer.
  • Majority of work will be performed within an indoor office environment. Typically work is not conducted in adverse environmental conditions.
  • Noise level is considered quiet to normal.
