Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Monitors Mastermind, C-Cure and Closed Circuit Television electronic systems to deter and protect against fire, theft, robbery, vandalism, and all illegal and unauthorized entry. Monitors all Synovus buildings, branches, ATM's, and executive residences and responds accordingly.
- Receives, evaluates and responds to all calls received in the Security Operations Center. Responds to all emergencies including fire, medical, theft, robbery, panic alarms and maintenance issues. Serves as liaison to law enforcement, fire, emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and maintenance personnel based on the situation.
- Participates in monthly and annual alarm testing including ensuring monthly alarm test email reminders are sent to appropriate personnel. Performs intercom system test for required locations. Conducts building security checks and inspections by walking through facilities to ensure security and safety and opens and closes facilities.
- Documents and signs-off on daily shift activity utilizing the shift summary log. Completes incident reports as required. Maintains log report of customer care calls and customer issue during non business hours. Ensures Customer Care is notified regarding ATM issues during non business hours.
- Schedules Operator coverage as necessary. Ensures team members log in at sites as appropriate. Provides management with input regarding performance of other less experienced Operators. Reviews and processes invoices. Removes system keypad access as Termination Reports are received.
- Provides procedural training to Security Systems Operators. Conducts and documents scheduled evaluations and critiques of subordinates. Reports issues and disciplinary action needs to management. Delegates tasks and duties to less experienced SSOs as required.
- Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Education :
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Experience:
Three years of corporate security experience and a law enforcement background including lead or supervisory responsibilities and experience with modern integrated security systems and conducting investigations.
Certifications:
CPR/AED certification, valid driver's license and eligibility for a weapons carry license applicable to assigned location are all required. Must complete and pass a state certified firearms qualification course within six months of hire date.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Physically able to complete training involving firearms, expandable batons, pepper spray and any other equipment used by Synovus Corporate Security.
- Demonstrates sound judgment and ability to respond to stressful situations with confidence while remaining calm.
- Ability to train new team members in both electronic systems and physical security aspects required as a SSO.
- Ability to interact with varying levels of the organization.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office software products including Word and Excel
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience working with teams.
- Experience working in a call center environment and working with C-Cure, Mastermind, 3SI, and March Networks preferred.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
