Southeastern Site Development, Inc. is seeking experienced and dependable Pipe Layers to join our heavy civil construction team. This position is responsible for the installation of underground utility systems, including storm drainage, sanitary sewer, water lines, and related structures. Pipe Layers work closely with foremen and equipment operators to ensure utilities are installed accurately, safely, and in compliance with project specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Install storm drain, sanitary sewer, water, and drainage pipe systems
- Set up pipe laser and shoot grade with transit
- Lay pipe to proper alignment and elevation per project specifications
- Install manholes, inlets, junction boxes, and related structures
- Perform backfill and compaction operations
- Cut, and join pipe sections as required
- Work safely in and around trenches in compliance with OSHA standards
- Assist with site cleanup and maintain organized work areas
- Follow directions from supervisors and adhere to all safety protocols
- Experience installing underground utility pipe in a heavy civil environment
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and grade stakes
- Knowledge of trench safety and excavation standards
- Ability to safely work around existing utilities
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Experience with large-diameter pipe installation
- Familiarity with laser levels and grade control systems
- Experience on DOT or municipal projects
