Daikin Applied is seeking a full‑time Service Technician II. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment.
LocationHouston, TX – Onsite
What you will do- Perform maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment, including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts, and proper lubrication.
- Repair and replace defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water‑source heat pumps, air‑handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes.
- Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems and prevent premature breakdowns or callbacks.
- Perform warranty service applications by inspecting and testing systems to verify the functionality of HVAC equipment and components.
- Direct LevelI technicians through hands‑on demonstrations of all necessary steps to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Receive and participate in centrifugal rebuild training from Lead and LevelIII technicians.
- Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner.
- Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call.
- Explain technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off‑site learning modules, and Daikin Learning.
- Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets.
- Ensure that standards, policies, procedures, and the maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld.
- Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures.
- 3+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Capacity for rotational emergency call support as required.
- Any required local‑law license(s) or training card(s).
- Work‑visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Commercial HVAC industry experience.
- EPA‑approved Universal Technician certification.
- OSHA
10 certification within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides the training during onboarding). - Current first‑aid/CPR card.
- Factory‑certified training, online training courses, and other professional on‑the‑job training in the HVAC industry.
- Company vehicle, laptops, mobile devices, and other technologies.

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $27.60 to $44.29 in Texas. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
