Foreman – Vegetation Management
The Foreman works within and leads a vegetation management crew, operating bucket trucks or other machines, providing training and development for trimmers and grounds crew. The Foreman enforces safety, operational practices, and maintains attendance and safety records. The Foreman communicates with customers, property owners, and the general public, reporting to the General Foreman and complying with safety procedures administered by the Safety Leader.
Responsibilities- Audit time sheets for accuracy.
- Leads vegetation management crews.
- Ensures utility specifications are followed.
- Coordinate with General Foreman.
- Pre‑inspect projects and develop recommended management plans, matching labor and equipment resources to work and cost estimates.
- Maintain accurate project circuit maps noting project status, crew locations and estimated completion dates.
- Inspect crews, start/stop times and identification of project shop locations.
- Assist with customer notifications and complaints.
- Preview work assignments and conduct post work critiques for each crew.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of tools and supplies to support assigned crews.
- Coordinate activities with the General Foreman to ensure customer requirements are achieved.
- Perform other duties as required.
- This is a minimum 40‑hour work week.
- Field experience as a vegetation management crew member.
- Ability to evaluate circuit conditions and hours required to complete clearances to utility specifications.
- Computer knowledge.
- Strong communication skills, able to write reports and communicate with various levels of personnel.
- Ability to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time in a hazardous environment.
- Ability to wear necessary PPE.
- Ability to safely drive an approved company vehicle and enter/exit it numerous times a day.
- Capability to operate in all weather conditions (rain, heat, sun, cold).
- Ability to traverse various terrains.
- Good reading, writing, and comprehension of job instructions.
- Professional handling of confrontations.
- Willingness to work long hours, overtime, and emergencies (including holidays and weekends).
- Knowledge of heavy equipment.
- Transportation to and from job sites.
- Willingness to travel out of state for emergency storm work.
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check, including MVR, and hold a valid driver’s license.
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- Extended standing and physical activity (lifting, twisting).
- Use of machinery, tools, equipment, and hand tools (chainsaws, hydraulic tools).
- Transportation to and from sites.
- $500 Signing Bonus (provided upon signing and completing background check within 3 days, start within 2 weeks).
