About This Role
As an Associate Field Engineer, you will be crucial to ALC’s business through the field commissioning of building automation systems created specifically for each individual customer. We are looking for a team member who is self‑motivated, detail oriented, and customer focused. This position is your first introduction into the career of a Field Engineer. You will begin to complete assignments using troubleshooting skills, and projects will advance in difficulty to develop your skills.
The ideal candidate will be a 2023 or 2024 graduate of a Technical Trade school, or a High School graduate with a focus in HVAC, Controls, or related field.
As a new Associate Field Engineer, you will be a part of our Fast‑Track Field Technician Program. This includes a 2‑week paid trip to Atlanta, Georgia where we will teach you everything you need to perform your new role with excellence. There will also be a number of fun team building activities during the connecting weekend to participate in. The start date of this program will be July, 2025.
Key Responsibilities- Initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize customer systems that utilize advanced Direct Digital Control technology.
- Offer effective solutions for system issues.
- Provide turnkey project delivery on small to mid‑level projects.
- Ensure that systems operate properly, including controls, sensors, and software.
- Load software, configure trends, alarms, and reports.
- Implement time management strategies to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Communicate and document the status and details of the project for the customer.
- Provide site‑specific training to owners/operators on the complete system.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade and capable of lifting items up to 50 lbs.
- Valid and current Driver’s License and insurable by the company’s insurance.
- Associate Degree, Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma in HVAC, Controls, or a related field.
- Interest in Building Automation, HVAC controls, or related field.
- Interest in building automation software, such as WebCTRL, and installing building automation controls.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications.
