Overview
Manage and assist skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties under close supervision.
Responsibilities- Manage field crew in the day‑to‑day production of projects.
- Exhibit a high level of safety consciousness and a clear understanding of equipment safety.
- Order tools and equipment.
- Interpret blueprints/plans and construct accordingly.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Provide leadership to others through example.
- Plan and procure materials for pipe installation and related work.
- Coordinate staff and work with owner representatives.
- Implement a safe workplace and adhere to all safety regulations.
- Five (5) years of experience managing crews on highway projects.
- Capability to lift, push, pull, or move up to seventy (70) pounds.
- Ability to climb, kneel, twist, and bend in various environments.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items.
- Demonstrated experience in utility work supervision (gravity sewer, sewer force main, storm drain, waterline – NNWW preferred).
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Valid driver license for occasional travel.
- Problem‑solving skills: define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle abstract and concrete variables.
- Physical capability to maneuver by foot around minor obstacles on construction sites.
- Work outdoors with exposure to changing weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind).
