Overview

Manage and assist skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties under close supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Manage field crew in the day‑to‑day production of projects.
  • Exhibit a high level of safety consciousness and a clear understanding of equipment safety.
  • Order tools and equipment.
  • Interpret blueprints/plans and construct accordingly.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Provide leadership to others through example.
  • Plan and procure materials for pipe installation and related work.
  • Coordinate staff and work with owner representatives.
  • Implement a safe workplace and adhere to all safety regulations.
Requirements
  • Five (5) years of experience managing crews on highway projects.
  • Capability to lift, push, pull, or move up to seventy (70) pounds.
  • Ability to climb, kneel, twist, and bend in various environments.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items.
  • Demonstrated experience in utility work supervision (gravity sewer, sewer force main, storm drain, waterline – NNWW preferred).
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Valid driver license for occasional travel.
  • Problem‑solving skills: define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle abstract and concrete variables.
  • Physical capability to maneuver by foot around minor obstacles on construction sites.
  • Work outdoors with exposure to changing weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind).
