Job Description & How to Apply Below

What you’ll do

As Electrical Lead at Giga, you’ll own the electrical systems that keep the world’s most demanding AI infrastructure running. This is a high-stakes, high-impact role where you’ll lead a portfolio of complex data center electrical projects — from design and procurement through commissioning and operations. You’ll set the technical bar, unblock your team, and ensure every watt of power we deliver is reliable, safe, and built to scale.

If you want to work on infrastructure that genuinely matters to the future of AI, this is the role.

Where you’ll work

This is an on-site position that requires long term travel and/ or short term relocation. This person should be comfortable with 3-6 month periods of being at a location before moving to the next.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage electrical subcontractors, providing technical, scheduling, and safety direction.
  • Own the full lifecycle of data center electrical systems — from conceptual design and load planning through installation, commissioning, and ongoing operations.
  • Oversee and coordinate electrical subcontractor activities on-site.
  • Inspect and verify all critical electrical installations, with a focus on terminations, connections, and panel work.
  • Personally confirm quality of terminations (torqueing, labeling, routing, and code compliance).
  • Ensure all work meets NEC, local codes, and project specifications.
  • Identify and correct deficiencies in workmanship before system energization.
  • Serve as the on-site authority for electrical best practices and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to resolve field issues.
  • Ensuring RFI procedures are followed and as-built drawings are accurately completed.
  • Maintain documentation of inspections, punch lists, and quality checks.
  • Enforce safety standards and proper lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Ensuring proper handoff documentation is prepared and available for the commissioning team.
Requirements
  • Active Master Electrician license (or equivalent state certification)
  • 8–15+ years of commercial or industrial electrical experience
  • Deep knowledge of medium- and low-voltage power distribution, UPS systems, generators, switch gear, and critical power infrastructure.
  • Experience overseeing electrical construction projects from design through commissioning, including managing contractors and vendors.
  • Deep knowledge of NEC, NETA and applicable local codes
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
Bonus points
  • Experience with hyperscale or colocation data center environments at 10+ MW capacity.
  • Experience in high-reliability environments (data centers, energy, industrial, oil & gas, etc.).
  • Background in QA/QC or commissioning.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
Benefits
  • Subsidized health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Equity (options) in a rapidly growing startup
  • 401(k) with 4% employer match
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Parental leave
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • Commuter benefits

Monthly team onsite events where all offices collaborate in person
