Trauma-Informed Victim Advocate & Outreach Specialist

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in related field or bachelor’s + 2 years’ social services experience
• prior case management/child welfare preferred
• willing to work non-traditional hours
• knowledge of community resources
• ability to work on multidisciplinary team with trauma-informed approach
• understanding of survivors’ needs

• Reports to Program Coordinator and Lead Clinical Therapist/Outreach Specialist
• participates in on-call rotations
• manages day-to-day Victim Advocacy and Outreach activities

• Coordinate victim outreach for suspected sexual assault, dating violence, stalking
• explain victims’ rights
• manage confidential documentation and intake
• assist with prosecution paperwork and referrals
• enter and track data through final disposition
• coordinate counseling referrals
• schedule sexual assault exams and provide medical accompaniment
• provide follow-up case management
• organise support groups
• provide psychoeducation to caregivers
• maintain resource guide
• participate in MDT case review
• conduct community education and outreach (e.g., Protect Your Crown, Erin’s Law, healthy relationships).
