Roadside Assistance Technician – Overview

We are looking for a Roadside Assistance Technician to join our Emergency Roadside Assistance team. The role includes operating a service truck or tow truck and delivering essential roadside solutions to members while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

• Operate a full‑size or mini service truck or tow truck and associated equipment to assist members, employees, and other motorists.
• Use GPS and maps to locate member breakdown locations.
• Service vehicles by providing fuel, battery testing and replacement, jump‑starts, lockout service, and flat‑tire repair or replacement.
• Tow vehicles when they cannot be started or are unsafe to drive.
• Ensure 100% member satisfaction through excellent customer service.
• Offer value to members through on‑the‑go tow or battery testing and sales.
• Provide support at special events such as parades, travel shows, Car Care or Public Relations events.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and 21 years of age or older.
• Valid state driver’s license with minimal driving infractions;
  Illinois C‑NonCDL required for Illinois positions.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Successful completion of drug screening, MVR, criminal background check, and DOT health screenings.
• Strong customer service skills and effective communication with members.
• Experience using tablets or electronic devices to update calls, review policies, and document safety records.

• Experience servicing vehicles: fuel, battery testing/replacement, jump‑starts, lockout service, flat‑tire repair or replacement.
• Prior tow truck driver or roadside service experience.
• Ability to safely operate a wheel lift, flatbed, dolly towing equipment, and full‑size or mini service vehicle.
• Commercial driving experience.

• Hourly rate: $22.50 (Georgia). Overtime at 1.5x.
• Shift premiums: 5% for 5pm–11pm, 10% for 11pm–5am.
• $1,000 sign‑on bonus (new applicants only). Split payout at 90 and 180 days.

Provide roadside service primarily on the road (up to 95% of time), with frequent exposure to road hazards and temperature extremes. Minimal office work is required.
