Overview
Job Summary:
Leads and coordinates engineering functional technology needs, may lead a team of associates that supports engineering information systems and end users.
- Operates, calibrates, installs, programs, repairs, designs, and fabricates instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
- Designs, develops, and documents new data acquisition systems; serves as expert in hardware and software systems; coordinates and sets up tests; troubleshoots problems.
- Schedules and prioritizes projects, interfaces with internal and external customers as well as support groups to produce optimal results.
- Specifies, purchases, and maintains equipment; fabricates prototypes; designs and executes field tests.
- Uses general tools such as digital multimeter, soldering iron, function generator, and frequency generator; reads and interprets electrical wiring diagrams.
- Communicates technical information (oral and written) to a diverse customer base; participates in maintenance of quality procedures.
- Develops and conducts training programs; provides counseling, mentoring, and coaching.
- Represents the company to customers, suppliers, and outside agencies; interacts effectively with employees across the organization.
- Demonstrates adaptability, initiates and participates in improvement projects, and manages own work with flexible scheduling to meet priority needs.
- Develops, updates, and administers department databases, wikis, websites, systems, security status, and technical libraries; assists with platform migrations; participates in the engineering application certification process.
- Monitors and audits function-related activities; aligns training and communication; defines and maintains workstations for the technologies administered; provides engineering support for databases, technologies, websites, and technical libraries; troubleshoots engineering system functionality and interfaces.
- Ensures installation, setup, and technical support for new and existing systems; provides global data maintenance and support for systems; coordinates related financial activities such as tracking charges and charge backs; interfaces with financial systems and analyzes related data.
- Initiates and leads improvement processes; contributes to self- and team audits and corrective action; develops training programs and maintains organizational network to answer questions and solve problems.
- Supports and troubleshoots engineering test operations/measurement in multiple locations; manages test schedules; develops measurement techniques and plans; leads troubleshooting; designs fixtures and procures equipment; creates software for special applications; documents test measurements and summaries.
- Provides support to resolve test issues; may lead development and execution of customer/supplier agreements with engineers; performs data analysis and documents findings in technical reports; presents test findings.
- Provides technical support for customers worldwide; adheres to company and department rules and quality procedures; demonstrates confidentiality where required.
- Travels as required; performs other duties as needed to complete the job.

- Engineering Software Certification - Certifies Engineering Software to enable user efficiency.
- Engineering Software/Hardware Evaluation - Evaluates tools to guide selection of engineering tools.
