Cross-Functional Engineering Associate - OCU - Technical - 1st Shift

Overview

Job Summary: Leads and coordinates engineering functional technology needs, may lead a team of associates that supports engineering information systems and end users. Operates, calibrates, installs, programs, repairs, designs, and fabricates instrumentation and data acquisition systems. Designs, develops, and documents new data acquisition systems; serves as expert in hardware and software systems; coordinates and sets up tests; troubleshoots problems. Schedules and prioritizes projects in order to produce optimal results;

interfaces with customers both internal and external as well as support groups within the company. Specifies, purchases, and maintains equipment; fabricates prototypes; designs and executes field tests. Uses tools such as digital multimeter, soldering iron, function generator, and frequency generator. Reads and interprets electrical wiring diagrams. Communicates technical information (oral and written) to a diverse customer base. Participates in the maintenance of quality procedures.

Develops and conducts training programs; provides counseling, mentoring, and coaching. Serves as company representatives to customers, suppliers, and outside agencies. Interacts effectively with employees throughout the company. Demonstrates adaptability and responsiveness to changing work needs and willingness to undertake new tasks as they become evident; initiates, develops, leads, and participates in improvement projects. Manages own work and adjusts priorities to meet demands;

participates in self and team audits and associated corrective action; plans and engages in continuous learning to be prepared for changing work demands. Performs other duties as required.

Develops, updates and administers department databases, wikis, websites, systems, security status and technical libraries. Assists with the migration from one technology platform to another; participates in engineering application certification processes. Monitors and audits function-related activities. Aligns engineering department training and communication processes; defines and maintains workstations used for technologies administered. Provides engineering support and administration expertise for databases, technologies, websites and technical libraries;

troubleshoots engineering system functionality and interfaces; participates in the development of technologies, websites, wikis, or databases; develops web and wiki pages. Ensures installation, setup and technical support for new and existing systems; provides global support for data maintenance; manages global data and supports systems. Coordinates related financial activities such as tracking charges and chargebacks; interfaces with financial systems; analyzes, compares, and reports related financial data.

Initiates, develops, and leads improvement processes; actively participates in self- and team audits resulting in process improvements. Develops and conducts training programs. Understands the organization structure and maintains a strong network across departments; leverages this network to answer questions, solve problems, and execute responsibilities. Performs other duties as required.

Supports and troubleshoots engineering test operations/measurement in multiple locations. Manages schedules and organizes tests and issues; facilitates the prioritization process for testing. Works with engineers to develop measurement techniques; designs more effective measurement methods and data acquisition processes and equipment; develops and executes measurement plans; leads the troubleshooting process; verifies proposed solutions; designs and procures fixtures for special tests; creates software for special applications;

documents hardware test measurements and test summaries.

Provides support to resolve test issues; leads the test/measurement and issue resolution process; may lead development and execution of customer/supplier agreements with engineers.

Performs data analysis and documents in technical reports; presents test findings.

Provides technical support for customers worldwide.
