Senior Site Quality Engineer

The Senior Site Quality Engineer is responsible for elevating manufacturing performance through rigorous quality systems, advanced problem solving, and cross‑functional leadership. By partnering with engineering, production, and customer stakeholders, this position drives improvements that ensure consistent product excellence, reduce process variation, and strengthen customer confidence.

Position Overview

The Senior Site Quality Engineer plays a critical role in safeguarding manufacturing integrity and advancing operational performance. This individual champions best‑in‑class quality practices, oversees defect prevention strategies, and ensures production processes meet stringent industry standards. Through technical expertise, analytical thinking, and collaborative leadership, the engineer helps transform complex manufacturing challenges into scalable solutions that support long‑term business success.

What You’ll Do
  • Quality Systems & Compliance: Lead initiatives that uphold rigorous quality management standards across the manufacturing site. Ensure alignment with established automotive quality frameworks and core tools, including IATF 16949 requirements as well as structured planning and production approval methodologies. Partner with internal teams to maintain compliance and ensure all processes meet customer and regulatory expectations.
  • Dimensional & Measurement Engineering: Apply advanced dimensional analysis techniques to validate component accuracy and manufacturability. Interpret and apply GD&T principles while utilizing modern metrology platforms and 3D measurement technologies to verify product conformance and support engineering decisions.
  • Root Cause Investigation & Resolution: Lead structured investigations into product or process issues affecting internal operations or external customers. Utilize systematic methodologies such as 8D problem solving, 5‑Why analysis, and cause‑and‑effect frameworks to identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Technical Quality Support: Serve as a subject‑matter resource for measurement systems analysis, statistical process control, and capability evaluation. Support teams with data‑driven insights that strengthen process stability, measurement accuracy, and long‑term quality performance.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce scrap, minimize rework, and enhance overall manufacturing efficiency. Leverage Lean and Six Sigma tools to identify improvement opportunities and implement measurable process enhancements.
  • Cross‑Functional

    Collaboration:

    Work closely with production teams, tooling specialists, engineering groups, and customer representatives to address quality challenges and implement process improvements. Facilitate effective communication between stakeholders to resolve issues quickly and maintain production continuity.
  • Team Development & Mentorship: Support the growth of quality and engineering team members by sharing expertise in industry best practices and quality methodologies. Provide guidance and mentorship that strengthens the overall technical capability of the organization.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Professional

    Experience:

    Approximately 3–5 years of experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally within automotive or other high‑precision industrial sectors.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), AIAG core quality tools, and modern metrology or measurement analysis software.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Ability to interpret complex technical data and present findings clearly to both technical teams and customer stakeholders.
  • Preferred Experience: Experience working with coordinate measuring machines (CMM) or advanced 3D scanning technologies; familiarity with workplace organization and continuous improvement methodologies such as 6S; exposure to welding processes, manufacturing experimentation techniques, or structured Design of Experiments (DOE); proficiency using statistical analysis tools such as Minitab or advanced spreadsheet modeling to interpret manufacturing data and support decision‑making.
