Senior Manufacturing Automation Engineer
Primary Talent Partners has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Automation Engineer to join a national motor and generator manufacturing company for an onsite position operating out of Columbus, IN. Pay: $60.00/hr - $70.00/hr
Contract:
12 months, extensions likely, conversion possible Type: W-2, cannot support C2C or provide visa sponsorship
Shift: This is a fully onsite role. The selected candidate will be asked if they were informed about the split shifts. Anyone not able to work the split shift will not be considered. This schedule is unique. It is split by half the year on days and the other half on nights.
- First 6 months is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Second 6 months is Monday through Friday, from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM. (Flexible on what this looks like)
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end manufacturing process development for assigned projects, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, and business objectives.
- Apply advanced manufacturing principles to optimize equipment performance and drive efficient, scalable production processes.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Cummins standards and tools to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality.
- Establish and standardize manufacturing methods and best practices to ensure consistency and operational excellence.
- Influence and collaborate with key stakeholders, including business leaders and external partners, to drive alignment and successful project outcomes.
- Coordinate cross-functional and external resources to execute project deliverables on time and within scope.
- Serve as a technical leader by sharing expertise, coaching stakeholders, and strengthening overall team capability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the organization to support collaboration, knowledge sharing, and sustained process improvements.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field, with 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Must have experience with Fanuc Handling Tool or Arc Tool
- Must have understanding of GD&T and be able to interpret engineering drawings
- Experience driving continuous improvement
- Experience with drawing interpretation
