Our client has six of its own production facilities on three continents and over 50 years of experience, my client is dedicated to the creation of innovative solutions that meet the needs of modern mobility through the creation of automotive gears and parts. OEMs and First Tier Suppliers all over the world trust in their customized components and systems for automotive applications.
They have the capabilities to partner with their customers at every project stage; from design, engineering and prototyping through testing and validation to series production and stock management.
Currently, our client is looking to employ a Manufacturing Engineer based out of Columbus, Indiana. Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Mechanical design of production equipment & automation
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical & electrical equipment issues
- PLC programming and troubleshooting capabilities
- Collaborative Robot install, program and maintenance
- Electrical skills for design, build, installation and operation of machine electrical controls
- Solid Works Drafting experience
- Work with maintenance, engineering hourly workforce to resolve equipment issues
- Develop, implement and maintain automated material handling systems.
- Understand & utilize 2D & 3D modeling software as required.
- Lead and coordinate special projects as assigned.
- Provide continuous process improvements.
- Assist with the development & refinement of production processes
- Create training documents for maintenance personnel
- Create work instructions for new and existing processes.
- Perform all aspects of project management including design, documentation, timing, budget and communication
- Understand and use all Maintenance programs including, drawing numbering, project management, storeroom stocking and equipment management
- Work with Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator on engineering improvements to address safety, environmental and/or health concerns.
- Responsible for following all policies, instructions and procedures to ensure product quality and continually monitoring processes, etc. as applicable to help identify and improve current or potential quality-related issues.
- Responsible for working safely, adhering to the facility's environmental, health and safety policies and procedures and continually monitoring the work environment to identify and communicate to supervisor/manager current or potential environmental, health or safety concerns.
Education and/or experience:
- 2-5 Years Manufacturing Experience
- BS Electro-Mechanical degree preferred.
- PLC programming and troubleshooting capabilities
- Collaborative Robot install, program and maintenance
- Solid Works Drafting experience
- Mechanical & electrical skills for design, build, installation and operation of equipment & electrical controls
- Understanding of tolerancing, drafting & equipment assembly.
- Hands on capability for equipment repair & troubleshooting.
