DutiesLER Tech Force LLC seeks Senior Calibration Engineer in Columbus, Indiana, and various unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S. Telecommuting permitted 3 days/week. Duties: apply quality assurance techniques; liaise with software and system development teams to coordinate calibration-related tasks; evaluate calibration activities to maximize resource efficiency; perform root cause analysis and error correction (5 Whys, Fishbone) for feature-level problems relating to calibration, controls, hardware, software, and architecture;
participate in calibration integration meetings; liaise with teams developing calibration management systems and applications; provide technical direction to support personnel; represent the calibration team in multi focused team meetings; support the development of calibration tools; utilize various test environments and controls architecture to analyze and verify controls performance.
Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, mechatronics engineering, or related field, and 3 years of experience (gained at any time) in an engineering or technical role in which one or more of the skills listed below were used or developed. Included within the 3 years of experience, must have experience in the following: embedded control systems;
MATLAB, Simulink, Lab View or Test Stand; test setup and hardware connections; implementing internal combustion engines knowledge and expertise to develop effective engine test methods; analyzing and interpreting control algorithms for engine architecture to improve quality of products and to perform calibration, tuning and testing activities; troubleshooting systems engineering problems using problem-solving methods (5 Whys, Fishbone, or 7-Steps); real time testing and decoding experience using at least one communications protocol (CAN, LIN, or TCP/IP) and troubleshooting any related issues;
product lifecycle management tools (Windchill, PTC Integrity, Jira, or AVL CRETA); reviewing and interpreting product drawings, wiring diagrams and architecture diagrams; performing data analysis and using results for the creation, testing, verification, and validation of control or diagnostic features.
