FORVIA is looking for a year-round Purchasing Intern for its location in Columbus, IN.
Your mission, roles and responsibilitiesThe Purchasing Intern is responsible for aiding the Tooling, Equipment and Prototype purchasing department in completion of specific assigned tasks and projects. Through successful completion of these tasks and projects the Intern will obtain experience and knowledge within their field of educational pursuit.
Responsibilities:
- Running numerous monthly reports
- Daily tariff classifications
- Gathering data for audits
- Additional tasks as assigned by the team, leadership and company
- Processing purchasing orders for T&E and Prototype team
- General admininistrative support function for T&E and Prototype team
- Propose continuous improvement ideas in business efficiency and cost reduction
- Create and manage savings and expense ideas
- Assist current Buyer with supplier relationship management and communication
- Gather data pertaining to quantity of goods ordered from SAP and other various data gathering tasks
- Attend and participate in team meetings
- Identify gaps between supplier targets and supplier performance
- Prepare spend / saving reports and present to Buyer and Manager
- Propose continuous improvement ideas in business efficiency and cost reduction
- Capitalizes on knowledge and shares best practices / lessons learned across organization and within the site
- Additional tasks as assigned by the team, leadership and company

- Strong interpersonal and team skills
- Organizational skills
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office and Excel
- Strong analytical skills
- Must be able to work a minimum of 20-25 hours per week, year round
- International mindset
Education / Experience:
- Full-time student
- Must be a currently enrolled student at an accredited university
- Pursuing a degree in one of the following:
Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or any other additional programs related to this field.
