Role OverviewThe Program Financial Analyst is responsible for managing the financial planning, tracking, and governance of engineering development programs. This role ensures that program investments are aligned with business priorities while maintaining compliance with financial processes and cost allocation standards.
You will collaborate with program leaders, engineering stakeholders, HR partners, and finance teams to ensure that funding is properly structured, monitored, and optimized. The role requires balancing multiple priorities across regions and program phases while delivering clear, actionable financial insights.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Planning & Budget Alignment
Partner with leadership and finance teams to develop annual budgets for engineering development programs. Support planning efforts across multiple regions, including participant cohorts, travel, and external resource investments.
Ensure that financial plans align with broader organizational priorities and strategic initiatives. - Cost Structure & Governance
Maintain and validate cost models for program delivery, including training costs, travel expenses, instructor fees, and regional implementation considerations.
Provide guidance on cost allocation and ensure accurate cross‑charging across functions and business units.
Support governance processes related to external vendor and consulting expenditures. - Demand & Funding Alignment
Work closely with program management to assess participation levels and funding availability. Identify potential gaps that could impact program viability and support decision‑making on program execution. - Financial Tracking & Reporting
Monitor program expenditures against budget forecasts across regions and participant groups. Provide regular updates on spending trends, cost per participant, and overall investment performance.
Ensure financial transparency by delivering clear and accurate reports for leadership review. - Risk Identification & Mitigation
Proactively identify financial risks, inconsistencies, and variances. Escalate issues as needed and recommend corrective actions to maintain program stability. - Value & ROI Analysis
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop methods for measuring the impact of engineering capability investments. Contribute to financial narratives that demonstrate program value, including cost savings and operational improvements. - Operational Financial Support
Maintain budget tracking tools, validate funding allocations, and resolve billing or cross‑charging issues. Support day‑to‑day financial operations that ensure program execution runs smoothly. - Day‑to‑Day Activities
Maintain and update program budget tracking tools on a regular basis.
Monitor actual versus forecasted spend and flag any variances.
Validate participant funding and cost center alignment throughout program cycles.
Support cross‑charging processes and resolve financial discrepancies.
Collaborate with program management to align demand with available funding.
- Professional Experience 3–5 years of experience in finance, program financial management, or business operations support roles.
- Financial Planning & Analysis Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking within a corporate environment.
- Technical Skills Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting.
