Job Description

The Industrial Engineer supports warehouse operations by analyzing data, improving processes, developing labor standards, and optimizing operational performance. This role partners with Operations, Safety, and Continuous Improvement teams to identify opportunities that improve productivity, reduce costs, enhance service levels, and support business growth. The position requires a hands‑on approach, balancing analytical work with regular engagement on the warehouse floor to observe operations and implement sustainable improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Improvement
    - Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency. Support Lean initiatives, Kaizen events, root cause analysis, and process standardization.
  • Labor Planning & Productivity Analysis
    - Conduct time studies and work sampling to establish labor standards. Analyze labor productivity, utilization, and efficiency to support workforce planning and staffing models.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting
    - Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data using warehouse systems and business intelligence tools. Develop dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and reports that support operational decision‑making, forecasting, and capacity planning
  • Warehouse Optimization & Project Support
    - Evaluate warehouse layouts, material flow, slotting strategies, and storage utilization to improve throughput and operational performance. Support cross‑functional projects from planning through implementation while tracking milestones and measuring results.
  • Operational Partnership
    - Spend significant time on the warehouse floor validating data, observing processes, and engaging with Operations, Safety, and Training teams. Build collaborative relationships to identify improvement opportunities and support sustainable operational excellence.
  • Combination of office and warehouse environments.
  • Regular walking throughout warehouse facilities for extended periods.
  • Frequent interaction with warehouse associates and operational leadership.
  • Exposure to warehouse equipment, varying temperatures, and moderate noise levels.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Days and Shift Information

  • Full‑time position
  • 7:00am- 3:30pm
  • May require flexibility to support multiple shifts and occasional weekends during projects or peak operations
Qualifications

Education

  • Associate's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field required
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related discipline preferred

Experience

  • Internship, co‑op, or 0–2 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, distribution, or related operations preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, formulas, and data analysis.
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and AutoCAD is preferred.
