Job Summary

The Batching Technician is responsible for preparing and producing bulk products according to approved batch records, standard operating procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements. This position involves accurately weighing and adding raw materials, operating production equipment, documenting batch information, maintaining sanitation standards, and ensuring products are prepared consistently and safely.

Responsibilities
  • Read and follow batch records, production procedures, and work instructions accurately.
  • Pull and verify raw materials from staging areas or the warehouse.
  • Confirm materials match required item numbers, names, lot numbers, expiration dates, and release status.
  • Weigh and measure raw materials using floor scales, load scales, and standard scales.
  • Add raw materials to batches according to specified quantities and instructions.
  • Accurately document weigh-outs, lot numbers, mix times, product information, and required verifications.
  • Set up and operate pumps, hoses, piping, and batching equipment.
  • Transfer bulk product into holding vessels after Quality Control approval.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas according to established procedures.
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely after completing required training.
  • Maintain proper PPE, housekeeping, sanitation, and safety standards.
  • Complete batch records, green sheets, logbooks, and other required production documentation.
  • Report material discrepancies, equipment issues, or process concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and procedures consistently.
  • Ability to read, understand, and complete production documentation.
  • Basic math, measurement, and weighing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Commitment to safety, sanitation, quality, and company policies.
  • Ability to work with production equipment and learn new processes.
  • Ability to safely handle raw materials and wear required PPE.
  • Forklift and pallet jack experience preferred, but training may be provided.
  • Reliable, organized, and willing to learn.
