The Heavy Equipment Operator role is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Columbus, IN. In this role, the operator will safely operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, and other machinery to support excavation, dredging, grading, and utility installation projects. Daily responsibilities include reading and following site plans, performing basic equipment inspections, communicating with site supervisors and crew members, and adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
The operator will help maintain clean and organized work areas, report equipment issues promptly, and support efficient project completion within timelines and quality standards.
- Candidates should possess strong equipment operation skills, including Heavy Equipment and Excavation experience.
- Candidates should possess equipment maintenance capabilities, including basic Equipment Maintenance and familiarity with Used Equipment.
- Previous experience in construction, excavation, or site work is preferred.
- Ability to read site plans, follow instructions, and work safely in outdoor and variable weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL or experience transporting equipment is a plus.
- Commitment to safety, reliable attendance, and effective teamwork and communication.
