We are seeking an experienced Powertrain Controls Engineer to design, develop, and validate control systems for automotive powertrain components. The role involves model-based development, control algorithm design, system integration, and validation for engine and transmission systems using industry-standard tools and methodologies.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and test model-based software components for automotive embedded systems such as ECM (Engine Control Module), traction control systems, and related powertrain functions
  • Develop control models using MATLAB/Simulink and Stateflow, ensuring compliance with system requirements
  • Generate production-ready code using Target Link from validated models
  • Perform MIL and SIL testing to ensure model accuracy and compliance with functional requirements
  • Support system integration activities, including CAN communication setup and diagnostic subsystem integration
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of control software across vehicle systems
  • Deliver software components as per change request (CR) and configuration management processes
  • Ensure compliance with ASPICE standards and automotive development processes.
Required Technical / Functional Skills
  • Experience in designing, developing, and validating control systems for automotive powertrain components such as engines and transmissions using MATLAB/Simulink
  • Strong understanding of control algorithms and engine parameter calibration
  • Hands‑on experience in system integration, including CAN communication and subsystem-level diagnostics
  • Expertise in Model-Based Development (MBD) using Simulink and Stateflow
  • Strong proficiency in MATLAB-based model design for control applications
  • Experience in automatic code generation using Target Link
  • Hands‑on experience in MIL (Model-in-the-Loop) and SIL (Software-in-the-Loop) testing
  • Knowledge of AUTOSAR application development is an added advantage
  • Experience with automotive communication protocols including CAN, J1939, OBD, and UDS
  • Exposure to OEM calibration tools and calibration workflows
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams including system engineering and embedded software teams
