Control System Engineer

Overview

Rockwell Automation Control Logix system design experience, including motion, ladder logic, and safety programming experience. Sieme ns Step 7 or other PLC version experience is desired. Function block and structured text programming is desired but not required. Proficiency in Rockwell Software PLC Programming, Studio 5000, and Rockwell Software HMI Programming, Factory Talk View Studio is required. Must understand PLC hardware and communication protocols.

Experience with machine safety systems. Knowledge of vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, Coherix) and Fanuc PMC ladder in CNC equipment is preferred.

• Develops and designs control systems; develops and implements bench tests; modifies software and equipment to ensure sensors and actuators function according to specifications; supports and debugs complex problems and change requests.
• Responsible for the installation and technical support of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based hardware and software. Coaches and mentors less experienced Controls Engineers.
• Support control activities for RMEP, CEP and CMEP Plant transformation in the Assembly and/or Machining areas as needed.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines in the plant to develop and improve processes and equipment.
• Work with equipment suppliers and drive programming, network, architecture, hardware and documentation standards for new equipment.
• PLC, HMI and MES programming changes; provide production support as needed.

• Bachelor of Computer Science (as indicated in the original profile)
• Experience with Rockwell Automation Studio 5000 and Factory Talk View Studio
• Proficiency in PLC programming, HMI programming, and understanding of PLC hardware and communication protocols
• Knowledge of vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, Coherix) and CNC equipment (Fanuc PMC ladder) is preferred

• Base Salary Range: $100,000 to $125,000 per annum
