We are looking for a talented First Officer to join our team specializing in Aviation for Cummins Inc. in Columbus, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
  • Support safe and efficient flight operations by executing assigned flight duties, partnering closely with the Captain, and contributing to the successful completion of every mission.
  • Maintain the highest standards of regulatory compliance by adhering to all aviation regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures to ensure safe and compliant operations.
  • Enhance operational decision-making by evaluating weather conditions, route factors, and airport conditions to support timely and effective flight planning and in-flight adjustments.
  • Ensure flight readiness and performance through accurate review of flight plans, weight and balance calculations, fuel requirements, aircraft performance data, and checklist execution.
  • Deliver an exceptional passenger experience by ensuring the aircraft is properly prepared, safe, comfortable, and stocked, while providing professional and customer-focused service.
  • Contribute beyond the flight deck by supporting departmental initiatives, participating on safety or hiring committees, and helping drive continuous improvement across the flight operation.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
  • Develop strong aircraft systems expertise by maintaining a thorough understanding of the assigned aircraft’s capabilities, limitations, and operating systems to support safe and efficient flight operations.
  • Apply sound judgment and decision-making skills to quickly identify issues, evaluate options, and make timely decisions that prioritize safety during both routine and unexpected situations.
  • Maintain continuous situational awareness by monitoring aircraft status, systems performance, weather, airspace conditions, and other environmental factors throughout each phase of flight.
  • Effectively manage workload and priorities by planning ahead, staying organized, and balancing multiple responsibilities while maintaining a high level of operational accuracy.
  • Consistently follow established procedures by adhering to standard operating procedures and checklists while exercising professional judgment when safety considerations require deviation.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with crew members, air traffic control, passengers, and other stakeholders to ensure shared understanding and efficient operations.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks by recognizing potential threats, managing errors effectively, and taking preventive actions to maintain safe flight operations.
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork and leadership by collaborating effectively with the Captain and crew, understanding team roles, and contributing to a positive and professional flight environment.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of aviation regulations and company policies by staying current on FAA requirements, operational manuals, and organizational standards to ensure full compliance.
  • Exhibit excellent flight path management skills by operating the aircraft smoothly and accurately through both manual and automated systems while adapting to changing operational conditions.
Education, Licenses,

Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Valid U.S. Passport
  • Valid first class medical certificate
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Valid FAA Commercial Pilot License with an instrument rating or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
  • 1,000 hours total flight time
  • 500 hours Pilot in Command turbine time
  • Successful completion of a FAA instrument proficiency check within the previous 12 months
Experience:

Intermediate level of relative work experience in a corporate aviation setting is preferred.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Performs flight duties as assigned by the Captain.
  • Conducts takeoffs and landings under the authority and direction of the Pilot in Command (PIC) and assumes control of the aircraft in the event of PIC incapacitation, in accordance with company policy and applicable regulations.
