Position Overview

Our client, a respected and growing commercial general contractor, is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to support construction legal operations, contract administration, risk management, and compliance across a diverse portfolio of commercial construction projects.

The Contracts Manager will oversee the administration, organization, review, and coordination of construction-related agreements while supporting risk management and legal operations throughout the project lifecycle.

Working closely with Operations leadership, Project Management, outside legal counsel, insurance partners, subcontractors, and vendors, this role helps ensure contracts are properly executed, compliance requirements are met, and commercial risks are effectively managed.

This position offers significant long‑term advancement opportunities into senior contracts and legal operations leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review, organize, route, track, and administer owner agreements, subcontracts, purchase orders, consultant agreements, NDAs, amendments, change orders, and other construction‑related contracts.
  • Assist with contract review, redlining, document revisions, and execution workflows.
  • Evaluate contracts for scope gaps, insurance requirements, indemnification provisions, payment terms, notice requirements, warranty obligations, and commercial risk.
  • Maintain contract logs, compliance trackers, insurance documentation, bond records, lien releases, warranty files, notice logs, and project closeout documentation.
  • Coordinate with outside legal counsel, insurance brokers, sureties, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and internal leadership on contract‑related matters.
  • Support contract administration throughout project execution, change management, closeout, and warranty periods.
  • Ensure contract documentation remains organized, accurate, and confidential.
  • Assist with improving contract management processes and operational workflows across the organization.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction contracts administration, construction legal operations, contract management, construction risk management, claims administration, subcontract administration, or a related field.
  • Construction industry experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction contracts, subcontract administration, project lifecycle management, and contract compliance.
  • Experience reviewing owner agreements, subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and construction‑related legal documents.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain contractual risks to operations teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or construction management software is preferred.
  • Paralegal Certificate or Legal Studies background is highly desirable.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) or licensed attorney credentials are a plus but not required.
