Your role and responsibilities:

The Plant Administrative Assistant provides essential administrative and operational support to the Human Resources function, ensuring positive employee experience through accurate data management, responsive service, and efficient execution of HR processes. This role serves as the first point of contact for employees, managers, and site visitors, providing front desk reception and administrative support while assisting with day-to-day HR activities. The HR Administrative Assistant partners closely with HR Business Partners and other HR stakeholders to support HR programs while delivering high quality customer service in a fast-paced environment.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Serve as the primary front desk contact, delivering a professional first impression while managing calls, emails, walk-ins, and visitor processes in accordance with site security procedures
  • Provide day-to-day HR support by answering routine inquiries, guiding employees and managers on HR processes and self-service tools, and escalating complex or sensitive issues as needed
  • Maintain accurate records by tracking inquiries, managing documentation (filing, scanning, data entry), and ensuring timely follow-up and resolution
  • Support HR operations and employee experience through administrative assistance, event and meeting coordination, and continuous improvement of processes while handling confidential information with discretion

Qualifications for the role:

  • High School Diploma Required. Associate OR Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field with 2+ years of Administrative/HR support experience – Preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees and managers
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer service–oriented mindset with sound judgment and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including intermediate Excel); working knowledge of HR practices, confidentiality requirements and Work Day – preferred
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
