Join a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer as a Robotics Engineer supporting advanced automated manufacturing systems across next-generation aerospace programs. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role focuses on robotic programming, automation integration, system optimization, and manufacturing support within a highly automated production environment.
The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality, and Maintenance to improve automation reliability, production throughput, and overall system performance.
Job Responsibilities:- Program, troubleshoot, and optimize industrial robotic systems used in aerospace and defense manufacturing applications
- Develop and maintain robotic programs, automation sequences, and process logic to improve production efficiency, quality, and repeatability
- Support integration of robotic systems including weld cells, material handling systems, vision systems, and automated assembly equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical, controls, communication, and robotic system issues to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to support automated manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with equipment commissioning, factory acceptance testing (FAT), system startups, and validation activities
- Support new product introduction (NPI) activities including process development, tooling reviews, fixture integration, and automation planning
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to automation and robotic system performance
Required:
- 5+ year experience programming and supporting industrial robotic systems within a manufacturing environment
- Hands‑on experience with Fanuc robotic systems including programming, troubleshooting, teach pendant operation, and system integration
- Strong understanding of industrial automation systems including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, servos, motion controls, and industrial communication networks
- Experience with robotic welding, automated assembly, machine tending, or material handling applications preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within automated manufacturing environments
- Experience supporting aerospace, defense, automotive, or other high‑reliability manufacturing industries preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering field required
- Fanuc robotics certifications, PLC programming certifications, or other automation-related certifications are a plus
