Position
Airbus Helicopters is seeking an Aircraft Technician A – Avionics for the Retrofit team in Columbus, MS
. This is a contract position.
- Perform assembly, installation, repair or replacement of aircraft electrical/electronic components and systems in aircraft manufacturing.
- Install electrical harnesses and sub‑assemblies: identify wire and coax cable, clamp, bundle, mount, route, strip, splice and solder, terminate.
- Ensure installations do not endanger aircraft structure or system operation.
- Work from blueprints, sketches, vendor and service manuals to obtain dimensions, locations, alignment, tolerances and other specification requirements.
- Use standard and specialized hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices and test equipment to complete assignments.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience working on avionics in aircraft, preferably rotorcraft.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, diagrams and apply standard shop practices for fabrication and repair of aircraft structures.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Onsite: 95% presence required.
- Vision, hearing, speaking, and hearing protection sufficient for all working conditions.
- Operate personal computer, telephone and other office equipment; handle production tools including hydraulic lifts.
- Carry, lift, push or pull items up to 30 lbs (14 kg). Sit for long periods; stand, squat or kneel when required.
- Travel independently on short notice and walk within office or production areas.
- PPE:
Safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, respirators/masks and/or gloves as required.
