Position: Manufacturing Engineer (SG 23)

Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the implementation, monitoring, improvement, and support of new and existing processes in their area of focus. Job functions/responsibilities include developing new and improved manufacturing processes and providing required assembly/machining process definition and documentation. The role also involves achieving stability in all engine-related processes by establishing process FMEAs, developing and implementing process control plans, and optimizing individual workstations to maximize output.

The Manufacturing Engineer will specify, procure, and approve necessary tools and equipment required to sustain a flexible manufacturing process. They will develop and maintain new equipment project books, equipment FMEA standards, and engineering operational standards for use across departments. They will also manage facility equipment numbering, documentation, and IT system integration.

Additional responsibilities include conducting time and work sequence studies and implementing required process modifications to manufacturing operations to improve quality and meet higher market demands. The Manufacturing Engineer will support the simultaneous engineering in support of new engine development projects and to plan, define, and implement the related process changes within the given time frame of each of these projects. They will provide direction within working groups to set priorities, project plans, and due dates.

They will monitor activities within the team and coordinate implementations and final reporting to area management.

The Manufacturing Engineer will maintain the plant's torque control tool spare parts management, tooling repair and replacement, and DC tool program back-ups. They will develop procedures and plant arrangements to ensure proper material handling and storage and maintain control documents per ISO requirements. They will participate in commissioning and new product launch activities and facilitate effective communication to plant management on project status.

Qualifications and skills include proven problem-solving skills, excellent technical, verbal, written, and presentation skills, and the ability to work in a self-directed and team-based environment.

Required:

B.S. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or similar).

Required:

1-2 years Automotive Manufacturing Experience. Desired:
Practical application of Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma tools. Desired: M.S. Degree in Engineering or MBA. Desired:
Black Belt Certified.
