We are currently looking for dedicated LPNs who want to make a difference in the lives of adults who are facing mental health challenges. You would be a key member of our medical team at the Aspire Community Crisis Stabilization (CCS) Unit in Quincy. The unit has 8
private rooms and offers a comfortable, supportive setting. A lower client census, and ability to work with experienced nurses, makes this an ideal learning environment for someone newly licensed.

Position and Unit

Under the direction of the Adult Community Crisis Stabilization Nurse Manager and working with the A-CCS Nurses and Prescribing Professionals, this role provides specialized care to adults in a 24-hour behavioral health crisis stabilization setting. The CCS Unit is located in Quincy and provides a stabilizing alternative to hospitalization with a focus on retaining connections to family and community in an intensely supervised outpatient setting.

The unit has 8 private rooms and offers a comfortable, supportive setting. A lower client census and the opportunity to work with experienced nurses make this an ideal learning environment for new grads.

Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and documenting medication self administration during clients’ stay
  • Monitoring client physical medical issues and working with Mental Health Workers to arrange for acute medical care for clients when needed
  • Facilitating health and wellness groups and activities
  • Delivering treatment interventions that are strength based and solution-focused
  • Encouraging consumer completed risk management/safety plans and Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP)
  • Coordinating with clients’ outpatient and A-CCS care providers
  • Completing documentation per shift as assigned
  • Participating in ongoing required training
Qualifications
  • Must demonstrate the following characteristics: reliable, responsible, team player, ability to grow and learn in the position, detail-oriented, organized, flexible, capacity to provide support and quality care to improve the physical and mental health of individuals served
  • Must be an independent problem-solver, able to work with minimal supervision when necessary
  • One-year experience in an acute mental health and/or dual diagnosis setting (preferred)
  • Familiarity with recovery oriented treatment for severe mental illness (preferred)
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (Diploma/Associates/Bachelor’s)
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) must be licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration

Weekend 8-hour shifts can be combined for a double shift!

LPN shift differentials for the Stabilization Unit position are:

  • 7a – 11p (Sat & Sun only) = Base + $1.00
  • 11p – 7a (any day of the week) = Base + $2.00
  • 3-11pm (Monday through Friday) = Base + $1.00
