PC​/Network Specialist

Position Title PC/Network Specialist Unit Name Systems and Networks Salary Grade 6 Number of Months 12 months Full-time or Part-time Full-Time Hours per week 40 Proposed Annual Salary, Hourly Rate or One-time payment Essential Duties

* Performs installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and upgrades on computer hardware, software and peripherals.

* Performs installation of network communications equipment, fiber optics, twisted pair, and hardware.

* Upgrades network hardware and software components as required.

* Provides hardware and software telephone support to the campus community.

* Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.

* Provides technical advice to University departments on software and hardware acquisitions.

* Writes and maintains user documentation, training manuals, and help documents.

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience:

* Bachelor's degree preferred in computer science, computer information systems, or related field

* One to two years professional related experience and/or training in personal computing and network computing software, hardware and peripheral support; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Skills & Abilities:

* Working knowledge of Database software;
Internet software;
Order processing systems;
Payroll systems;
Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
