Materials Planner responsible for planning, scheduling, and expediting materials or parts to support manufacturing processes, using independent judgment and working under limited supervision.

Responsibilities- Review all assigned parts and suggested orders per daily MRP run, initiating releases or corrective actions as required.
- Ensure adequate planning and maintain target inventory goals for all parts.
- Maintain system accuracy for master data on assigned parts.
- Review approved future spec week changes and verify parts are planning correctly to the scheduled change.
- Respond to line and material handling issues with inbound deliveries or shortages.
- Follow up with suppliers, transportation, cross dock, etc., to ensure plans resolve known pending shortages.
- Support PPS, continuous improvement initiatives, Six Sigma projects, and training.
- Support the project management team to ensure on‑time delivery for project parts.
- Resolve supplier issues, schedule questions, container shortages, container expedites, and other logistics matters.
- Coordinate with the traffic department to schedule material pick‑ups.
- Work with the EDI onboarding team to onboard all vendors to full EDI transmission.
- 3–5 years experience with SAP or other MRP/ERP system.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of advanced systems and basic database relationships.
- Proficient computer literacy with MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Access;
Excel skills required. - Ability to work a flexible schedule; shift may need modification to support expediting parts from the European Union supply base.
- Self‑motivated, well organized, flexible, and able to handle the pressure of a high‑volume operation.
- Experience working with high‑performance work teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Six Sigma, Kaizen, and/or continuous improvement concepts (plus).
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
