PEG Staffing & Recruiting is partnering with a growing manufacturing organization to hire a Plant Trainer who knows how to turn “tribal knowledge” into repeatable, compliant, and safe processes. This role sits at the intersection of training, operations, and continuous improvement—and it matters.
What You’ll DoThis role owns plant-wide training systems, documentation, and execution. You’ll design, deliver, audit, and continuously improve training programs that support safety, quality, and productivity.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying gaps in training systems, documentation, content, and structure
- Develop and maintain all plant training documentation, qualification records, certifications, logs, and metrics
- Create training materials including standard work, videos, and OJT testing/verification tools
- Coordinate and manage new employee training programs from day one through production readiness
- Conduct new hire tours and prepare employees for the production floor
- Deliver feedback and make final recommendations to graduate, retrain, or exit employees
- Conduct audits of training systems and processes; provide feedback to leadership and participants
- Train and certify employees on safe operation of all equipment—safety is non-negotiable
- Maintain SOPs, job aids, training records, and skills matrices
- Coordinate refresher and remedial training as needed
- Train associates at workstations and in classroom settings
- Identify skill gaps and recommend additional training or performance actions
- Oversee a train-the-trainer program and/or supervise Technical Learning Specialists
- Support professional and leadership development initiatives for the plant team
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to train, coach, and mentor effectively
- Experience as a subject matter expert (SME) with hands-on training delivery
- Training experience in a manufacturing, industrial, production, assembly, or steel environment
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and audit readiness
- Comfortable delivering both classroom and on-the-job training
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Familiarity with train-the-trainer programs and upskilling supervisors and leads
- High School Diploma or GED required
- TWI Formal Training Certification or equivalent formal training experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a trainer, instructor, or educator in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Strong ability to work with diverse teams across the production floor
