Overview
Airbus is looking for an Aircraft Systems Installer to join our team. You will be part of the team responsible for the systems installation of the aircraft for the final assembly line.
Program and EligibilityAirbus is an authorized DoD Skill Bridge partner (per DoDI 1322.29). This 180-day program allows transitioning service members to leverage their military technical expertise in a high-precision aerospace environment.
Skill Bridge Eligibility:
- Active-duty service member within 180 days of separation.
- Written Commander (O-4 or above) authorization.
- Must have current work authorization for U.S. positions.

Your Working EnvironmentMobile, AL – U.S. Assembly Facility
On the "Airbus Way" you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019.
Kinston, NC
The Airbus Aerosystems Kinston facility specializes in the production of large, advanced composite aerostructures, including components for the Airbus A350 XWB.
Columbus, MS
Home to Helicopter manufacturing and assembly lines and Center of Excellence for North America. Here we produce UH-72A Lakota Helicopters for the U.S. Army and H-125 aircraft for civil and commercial customers.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare mechanical components at the station/workplace/aircraft parking space
- Installation and manufacture: mark, prepare, assemble, adapt, torque and secure mechanical components and parts
- Inspect bonding as per order/GTI, drawing and specifications
- Check system functions
- Specialized in the areas below:
- VTP and HTP installation, Hydraulic lines installation
- Installation in the Belly fairing and Flap areas
- Air conditioning and Fuel system installation
- MLG & Tank Test
- Gauging Test
Other tasks as needed
Qualifications & ExperienceEducation
- Required:
- High School Diploma, GED or an equivalent combination of training/experience.
- The ability to successfully complete trainings provided by Airbus after recruitment:
- Health & Safety
- General aircraft familiarization
- Quality trainings
- Preferred:
- Training from a vocational school or previous employer in the use of application tools and techniques.
Experience
- Required:
- 2 years minimum experience in Aviation Production or equivalent
- Preferred:
- Completed vocational training (Mechanics/Systems) preferred
- 5+ years hands-on experience in Aviation Production
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities
- Required:
- Knowledge of System/Mechanical tasks
- Good knowledge and experience in LEAN practices
- High degree of flexibility
- Ability to work under high pressure
Communication Skills
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
- Vision, Hearing, Speaking: adequate to perform duties and communicate in a professional environment
- Equipment Operation: work at heights and use jigs; some tasks may involve hydraulic lifts up to 40 feet
- Confined Space, Carrying, Lifting, Pushing/Pulling, Sitting, Squatting/Kneeling, Standing, Travel, Walking: suitable for manufacturing and field conditions
