This position reports to:
Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift
The CNC Machining Utility Technician is responsible for supporting CNC machining operations by learning, operating, and assisting across multiple CNC machines within the department. This role provides flexible, day-to-day technical support to operators, fills in where needed to maintain production flow, and ensures quality and safety standards are consistently met. The position aids the Supervisor by ensuring material flow within the department.
The position emphasizes cross-training, troubleshooting, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the machining department.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Interpret work instructions, set up CNC shaft machines, and operate equipment to meet production specifications.
- Support production by loading/unloading parts, monitoring machining processes, assisting with setups and tooling, and troubleshooting minor issues.
- Ensure product quality by performing inspections with precision tools, maintaining documentation, and resolving defects to meet standards.
- Promote safe, efficient operations by maintaining equipment, training team members, handling materials, and following safety and housekeeping practices.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of industrial manufacturing experience or equivalent military service.
- Vocational/technical training may be considered in lieu of experience.
- CNC machining experience or certification preferred but not required.
- Previous shaft or motor manufacturing experience preferred.
- Forklift experience/certification preferred.
- Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States.
