Responsible for evaluating new/existing processes and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the production process.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Evaluate and improve on processes in manufacturing systems.
- Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers.
- Develop innovative solutions.
- Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
- Prepare samples for study.
- Analyze testing results and compare against customer specifications.
- Collect, record, and transcribe data.
- Show results in reports.
- Develop and implement systems that optimize all phases of production process.
- Advise on corrective actions.
- Work with equipment designers and operations to develop a cost-effective and working production process.
- Ensure projects are completed on time.
- Ensure financial budgets are followed.
- Research and purchase new manufacturing technology.
- Maintain database of operational work standards.
- Work with advanced product development/manufacturing to establish baseline processing standards for new products and production methods.
- Must have excellent communication and organization skills, along with strong math background.
- Work well independently and with teams.
- Must be a team player within a progressive work environment.
- Must be able to work with a high degree of accuracy, under pressure and with frequent interruptions.
- Lean Six Sigma Manufacturing Experience (Black Belt or Green Belt).
- Working knowledge of a variety of software including Microsoft Excel, Word.
- Working knowledge of CAD systems (Auto Cad, Spinfire)
- Strong problem solving skills.
Must be able to work with little to no supervision. Must be able to supervise, lead, coach, develop, evaluate, and discipline direct reports.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION/LICENSE REQUIRED- Minimum technical education (BS/BA degree) and/or equivalent working experience (5+ years) in:
- Manufacturing Operations
- LEAN Manufacturing
- Automotive quality systems
- Professional certification in ASQ-CQE, CQA, or CQM
- APQP, Six Sigma, 8-D Training, 5S Visual Factories
- Medium to heavy work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force infrequently, involves transporting, positioning, stooping, and bending on an infrequent basis.
- Incumbent to exposure to internal office conditions and internal plant conditions such infrequent exposure to loud noise (s), dust and miscellaneous particles, and cold/heat.
- Infrequent exposure to Hi-Lo traffic.
