Proposed Annual Salary, Hourly Rate or One-time payment
- Assist the Director of Alumni Relations and Donor Engagement and working with the Development and Alumni staff through the fundraising cycle, developing strategies that strengthen long-term relationships with alumni and donors.
- Create promotional materials, invitations and solicitations related to fundraising activities and events. Maintain an inventory of donor gifts/premiums for use by Development staff and ensure staff are aware of these resources.
- Create, implement and direct a comprehensive and strategic stewardship plan acknowledging all supporters to the University. Stay informed about current best practices and emerging trends in donor stewardship.
- Coordinate preparation and logistical support for MUWAA Board meetings. Attend meetings as requested and provide ongoing coordination to support effective Board engagement.
- Assist in organizing alumni functions/events and attend as needed.
- Oversight of the Key Person Network ( KPN ), including coordinating volunteers within the network, sending messages to be relayed to legislators, and preparing/distributing the monthly legislative advocacy newsletter.
- Work with Development and Alumni staff to plan and execute fundraising, alumni and cultivation events locally and out of state throughout the year and attend as needed. Events include but not limited to Homecoming, Welty Gala, Scholarship Donor Appreciation Lunch, and Foundation Holiday Party.
- Identify ways to enhance fundraising efforts through social media platforms and drive awareness of and attention to event and other fundraising activities. Utilize design skills for social media and other fundraising images.
- Manage day to day updating, maintenance, and continuity of social media outlets:
Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, etc. - Manage the online reputation of the social media efforts by monitoring news and trends. Monitor the impact of social media by tracing metrics and analyzing effectiveness in an effort to maximize results.
- Coordinate and manage the Student Alumni Association, including student engagement, programming, communications, events, and volunteer activities.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Requires at least 2 years of experience in a professional office environment; 3 years of experience preferred
- Experience creating and coordinating social media content as well as other promotional and fundraising materials
- Preferred experience with non-profits, donor engagement and fund-raising; working in a fast-paced environment; creating, composing, and editing professional written materials, both promotional and fund-raising
Qualifications:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge or a similar advancement database is preferred
- Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, telephone, and customer service skills
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and manage multiple alumni, student, donor, volunteer, fundraising, and special event programs and initiatives, including the Student Alumni Association
- Ability to exercise independent judgment, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and manage projects with strong organization and attention to detail
- Ability to gather, analyze, maintain data and prepare reports
- Creativity and enthusiasm for engaging and working with a wide range of individuals
- Ability and willingness to occasionally adjust work hours, including working evenings or weekends, as needed to support alumni, student, donor, volunteer, and special events
