Provides under the direction of a registered nurse, those aspects of patient care which have been previously learned/demonstrated in the nursing program in which enrolled. Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing. Performs other duties as assigned.
• - Assesses the patient under the direction of the registered nurse.
• - Contributes to the plan of care under the direction of the registered nurse.
• - Implements the plan of care under the direction of the registered nurse.
• - Participates in the evaluation of expected outcomes and goals under the direction of the registered nurse.
• - Administers treatments as ordered according to policy and procedures under the direction of the registered nurse.
• - Administers medication as ordered according to policy and procedures under the direct supervision of the registered nurse.
• - Reinforces the health/teaching/education of individuals and groups of patients under the direction of the registered nurse.
• - Participates in activities to improve health care delivery under the direction of the registered nurse.
• - Builds knowledge and experience base regarding clinical leadership.
• - Supports lifelong learning.
Enrolled in an approved IHL apprenticeship nursing program preparing for RN licensure. Completion of Nurse Extern program.
