Job Summary
Provides under the direction of a registered nurse, those aspects of patient care which have been previously learned/demonstrated in the nursing program in which enrolled. Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing. Performs other duties as assigned.

- Assesses the patient under the direction of the registered nurse.
- Contributes to the plan of care under the direction of the registered nurse.
- Implements the plan of care under the direction of the registered nurse.
- Participates in the evaluation of expected outcomes and goals under the direction of the registered nurse.
- Administers treatments as ordered according to policy and procedures under the direction of the registered nurse.
- Administers medication as ordered according to policy and procedures under the direct supervision of the registered nurse.
- Reinforces the health/teaching/education of individuals and groups of patients under the direction of the registered nurse.
- Participates in activities to improve health care delivery under the direction of the registered nurse.
- Builds knowledge and experience base regarding clinical leadership.
- Supports lifelong learning.
Description Minimum Required Preferred/Desired Enrolled in an approved IHL apprenticeship nursing program preparing for RN licensure. Completion of Nurse Extern program.
