Job Description

Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Quality Inspector B to join our Quality Team in Columbus, MS. The Quality Inspector B is responsible for ensuring compliance with Airbus Helicopters Inc. policies, procedures, and FAA regulations. They approve incoming and shipping materials through established processes, record inspection results, and perform detailed inspections of aircraft components, composite materials, blades, dynamic components, paint, and Backshop activities to meet specifications and identify non-conformities.

Working Environment

Located on the eastern border of Mississippi in Columbus, we are home to Helicopter manufacturing and assembly lines and the Center of Excellence for the entire North America region. We produce the UH‑72A Lakota Helicopters for the U.S. Army and the H‑125 for civil and commercial customers.

Your Challenges

Education
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Associates Degree in Aviation or related industry
Experience
  • Three (3) years as a Technician in aviation maintenance/manufacturing or equivalent related experience
  • Two (2) years quality experience in aviation related field
Licensure / Certifications
  • Meet requirements of 14

    CFR Part 65.101 and obtain a repairman certificate within 3 months of employment
  • Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant License
  • FCC 2nd Class License
Travel Required
  • 5% domestic and international travel
Citizenship
  • U.S. Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, Green Card holder or other covered under ITAR license)

  • None
Qualified Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical and regulatory documentation
  • Familiarity with inspection tools, aids, and devices used to determine tolerances and specification limits
  • High degree of professionalism, judgment, and integrity
  • Experience and interpersonal skills to work in multiple areas
  • Technical knowledge of Airbus Products/Programs
  • Knowledge of AS9100 Quality Standards
Physical Requirements
  • 100% onsite unless traveling
  • Vision: able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings; correctable near/far vision if applicable
  • Hearing: able to participate in conversations and hear alarms on the production floor; daily

  • Equipment Operation: operate office and personal electronic equipment and some tools
  • Carrying: carry documents, tools, drawings, equipment up to 30 lbs/14 kg; daily

  • Pushing / Pulling: push and pull small office furniture and tools; daily
  • Sitting: sit for long periods in meetings or computer work; several times a week
  • Squatting / Kneeling: retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving; daily
