The Ghanim lab at Princeton University is seeking a postdoctoral candidate (or more senior researcher) to study macromolecular complexes involved in LINE-1 retrotransposition using an integrated biochemical and structural approach with a focus on cryo-EM. The postdoctoral scholar will have access to cryo-EM instrumentation and computational resources through the university's core facilities. The start date is negotiable; terms of appointment depend on rank and funding.
Positions at the postdoctoral rank are typically one year with the possibility of renewal; more senior ranks may include multi-year appointments.
- Conduct research on macromolecular complexes involved in LINE-1 retrotransposition using biochemical and structural methods, with emphasis on cryo-EM.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and contribute to challenging nucleoprotein biochemistry and cryo-EM projects.
- Present findings, contribute to manuscript preparation, and support group training as appropriate.
- PhD in Molecular Biology or a related field (or expected by start date).
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: protein purification, protein–nucleic acid biochemistry, cryo-electron microscopy, and/or structural biology.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Motivated, good communication skills, and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Some experience in cryo-EM or eukaryotic protein expression is a plus.

Salary and BenefitsExpected Salary Range: PDRA: $65,000 – $69,000; ARS: $67,000 – $77,000. The University offers a comprehensive benefits program to eligible employees. The posted salary range represents a good-faith estimate for a full-time position; salaries for part-time positions are pro-rated accordingly.
Work Location and Start DateThe work location is on campus at Princeton University. The start date is negotiable, and appointment terms depend on rank and funding.
