Job Description
Lead Technician at Sparklight, a Cable One brand, responsible for commercial and residential installations, repairs, service terminations, and equipment relocations across 26+ states. The role merges hands‑on fieldwork with mentorship and leadership in the HFC network.
Responsibilities- Perform commercial and residential installations, repairs, service termination, and equipment relocation.
- Use electronic test equipment to troubleshoot customer service drops, diagnose and repair reception performance issues, and resolve problems from customer‑owned equipment to output.
- Perform all essential duties of a Senior Field Technician at least 50% of the time and serve as a role model/mentor in installation and network maintenance.
- Train new Field and Senior Field Technicians and train Lead Technicians as directed by the Technical Operations Manager.
- Inspect and evaluate completed field work.
- One year college or technical school certificate, or 3–4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience.
- Successfully complete a Leadership and Supervisory Skills course within one year of becoming Lead Technician.
- Successfully complete all Cable One Technical Training Center courses from Senior Field Technician through Advanced Technician, as applicable.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Ability to work a variable schedule and occasional travel.
